Watercolour Society
During this one-week watercolor residency, the Watercolour Society cohort embarked on an open-ended exploration of the landscape through plein air painting, hiking, and studio practice. With a fluid, presence-based approach, they aimed to let the natural surroundings dictate their artistic impulses rather than imposing preconceived notions.
The group examined the relationship between nature and creative practice through observational painting, drawing wisdom from silence, patience, and immersion in time and space. Artists engaged in group plein air sessions while also pursuing individual projects.
Participating Artists:
The culminating accomplishment was a collection of watercolor works - impressions of a specific time, place, and shared experience condensed onto paper. To promote this exploratory model, the residency hosted a community watercolor meetup inviting local artists to participate.
Watercolour Society hosted a plein-air event inviting members of the community to Washington County Park.
